About Me

My first experience with dog training was when I got my first dog—an adorable but rambunctious golden retriever puppy. Shortly after getting her home and trying to manage her endless energy and unruly behavior, I realized that I was clueless about how to train her. I hired a professional trainer to help me. I worked tirelessly with my dog during and between sessions to teach her mannerly behavior. Eventually my dog was transformed from an out-of-control puppy to a loving, obedient companion.

I went on to pursue a job at a local training facility as a junior handler/trainer. While this was a while ago before attending college, I maintained my passion for dog training. I later resumed training dogs and eventually opened my own business five years ago. I pursued formal education at the Animal Behavior College and completed two comprehensive externships under highly skilled trainers. I am currently working on my certification by the Council for Professional Dog Trainers. I keep updated in my field through ongoing reading, research, and attending seminars and conferences. I also volunteer my services at a local shelter helping rescues to develop the kinds of behaviors and skills that will maximize their chances of getting a new home.

I hope you will allow me to help you and your dog by sharing my training skills and knowledge.
